Kitten Around Cat Lounge opened in March 2023 in the small southern town of Carthage, NC. It has changed ownership three times, but has mostly remained the same calm refuge that our customers have come to love.

As the newest owner, please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Laura Smith and I am a huge animal lover, and hold a special fondness for rescue cats. I am super excited to be a part of the KACL family and to continue the business of finding purrfect furever homes for the cats of Moore County.

I have 5 rescue cats at home- Violet, Sasha, Simon, Muffin, and Rosie. All of them were strays that I took in from around my house, except for Sasha. She was a stray found elsewhere. I also have one dog, Roxie, who is 13 years old.

Kitten Around Cat Lounge holds up high standards of cat care and we are licensed by the North Carolina Department of Agriculture.  We hope to see you soon to either adopt a cat, enjoy a cup of coffee, or spend time in the cat lounge.
